I Am Baba is a show about identity, agency and personhood. For babies.
Created in 2017 as the International Early Childhood Arts Commission from the 4 Dublin Local Authorities through the Arts Council of Ireland’s Invitation to Collaboration Scheme, I AM BABA has toured all over Ireland, having played over 500 shows.
Touring has been in partnership with diverse partners including the Katharine Howard Foundation and the national network of CYPSC (Children & Young People’s Services Committees).
In June 2022, I AM BABA was invited to the WeeFestival in Toronto.
In autumn 2023, I AM BABA will tour for fourteen weeks to more than 1000 babies, visiting 20 counties in Ireland in partnership with venues across the country and with the national network of CYPSC. In addition we’ll be playing 3 hospital venues in partnership with Children’s Health Ireland.
In addition to the performances for the CYPSC (details here) and CHI service users, we have some public dates in theatres and arts centres across the country.
